Importancia y necesidad: porque el mundo es cada vez una aldea global, vamos experimentando un cambio abrumador muy notorio en la industria, el mercado y el intercambio de productos a grandes dimensiones debido al desarrollo de la tecnología y a un efecto negativo muy vigente y más acentuado a partir de la pandemia en el 2019 como es la movilidad humana.

Multinacionales llegan todos los días explorando mercados y requieren individuos no solo con conocimientos en diferentes áreas, sino con un excelente nivel de inglés que le permita a la compañía articular los procesos en diferentes países.

Como docentes de inglés, nuestro objetivo principal es que las estudiantes sean capaces de comprender y, sobre todo, de comunicarse con eficiencia en el idioma inglés como segunda lengua, ya sea para asegurar un futuro en la misma patria o porque requieran salir al exterior a especializarse o simplemente porque hoy es in requisito indispensable para el ingreso a la Educación Superior.

Existen también otros objetivos que consideramos importantes al momento de planificar o brindar una clase, uno de ellos es que nuestros estudiantes se involucren con los acontecimientos sociales de su contexto y el mundo, es decir, experimenten el lenguaje desde una perspectiva real no solo como materia sino como un lenguaje global, es por esto, que procuramos ponerlas en contacto con material de calidad que responda a estas características y necesidades. A su vez, que las haga reflexionar sobre su realidad y lugar en el mundo. Para esto, organizamos actividades de interés común y que sean útiles para desarrollar no solo el idioma inglés, sino otras destrezas como pensamiento crítico, creatividad y competencias digitales.

ENGLISH AS YOUR PROFESSIONAL ALLY

Just as the world becomes a global village, we have been experiencing an overwhelming change in the industry, market and massive product interchange due to the technology development and migration, this last one especially noticeable from the beginning of the global pandemic.

Multinational industries, for instance, explore the market constantly and they require individuals, not only prepared in different areas of knowledge but also proficient in English, a language that has gained importance in all professional aspects.

As English teachers, our main objective is to prepare our students to communicate efficiently in this language. This will certainly ensure their future in our country as well as abroad since it is also critical in the higher education field.

There are also other objectives that we consider while planning our classes, one of which is to engage our students with the social events of our country and the world, in this way, they will experience the language with authentic resources, which will enable them to be in touch with the global language and reflect on what is their place in the world. We manage to achieve this by organizing activities of their interest that will also allow them to develop other critical skills such as critical thinking, creativity and digital competencies.

Con el paso del tiempo el inglés se ha establecido como herramienta fundamental tanto a nivel profesional, como a nivel académico. En el campo laboral, por ejemplo, ha cobrado importancia por el rápido cambio que se experimentado a nivel de la industria y el mercado, factor que ha sido exacerbado por el desarrollo de la tecnología y la movilidad humana, especialmente tras el comienzo de la pandemia. No es extraño encontrarnos con multinacionales que requieren individuos competentes, no solo en distintas áreas del conocimiento, sino también en el manejo de este idioma que se utiliza a nivel global. Asimismo, no podemos ignorar la trascendencia del inglés a nivel académico, sobre todo en contextos de educación superior, donde se exige su competencia no solo para acceder a estudios de tercer y cuarto nivel, sino también para escribir y publicar artículos científicos.

Como docentes de inglés, ese es nuestro objetivo principal, que las estudiantes sean capaces de comprender y, sobre todo, de comunicarse con eficiencia en este idioma, ya sea para asegurar su futuro en la misma patria o en instancias en el extranjero, como podría ser una especialización.

ENGLISH AS AN ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ALLY

English has gained an important place in both professional and academic contexts. In the working area, for example, we find it as the common language in the industry and market fields, both of which have experienced an overwhelming change due to technology development and migration, this last one especially noticeable from the beginning of the global pandemic. Multinational industries, for instance, explore the market constantly and they require individuals, not only prepared in different areas of knowledge but also proficient in English, a language that has gained importance all over the world.  On the other hand, in the academic area, English has become a requirement, especially in higher education, not only to access graduate or postgraduate studies but also to write and publish scientific articles.
